Hi, I'm Courtney!
I am an Illinois ceramic artist/potter located about an hour south of Chicago. Each piece is made with the intention to bring a little bit of happiness to your every day routines.
I found my call to clay during my sophomore year at Millikin University, located in Decatur, IL. As a student I had the job as a gallery watcher in the schools gallery. At the time, Millikin professor Jim Schietinger oversaw changing out the gallery exhibits. While I was in the gallery one day, Jim was putting up the next show. I offered to help set up, and soon after that he offered me the job as the student assistant for the ceramics building. From there on out, I learned the ins and outs of clay. How to make the clay, glaze, and fire the kilns. I graduated from Millikin University in 2015 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts focusing in Ceramics and Photography.
After college, I got married and started working a “normal” job but continued to make pottery almost every night and on the weekends in hopes of making it my full time dream. Well, as of January 2022, I am now a full time artist and I couldn't be more thankful for the support of my husband, friends, family and amazing customers.
